In this episode, I dive into my lifelong connection with Superman and the profound life and business lessons I've learned from that connection. I’ll share the story of how my passion for Superman developed during a pivotal moment in high school when a devastating injury sidelined me from competitive soccer, and how my grandfather’s belief in me reignited my own self-belief. We'll talk about how Superman became a symbol of resilience and overcoming obstacles in my life. I'll also explore how those lessons translate into entrepreneurship—leading, inspiring others when they can't find belief in themselves, and the relentless mindset it takes to push forward as a business owner.

We’ll also switch gears to a fun and surprising topic: Bluey! My kids are obsessed with this Australian cartoon, and it turns out there are some pretty powerful work-life lessons hidden in the episodes that resonate with entrepreneurs and parents alike. From teamwork to learning the value of money, Bluey offers a refreshing look at how play and imagination can spark real-world skills.

We'll also look into some of the most memorable stories and characters from films and plays that have stuck with me throughout the years. First up, Chicago—a musical where each character’s story of survival, deception, and the infamous “Razzle Dazzle” reminds me of how in both life and business, it’s often less about the details and more about how you present yourself. Whether it’s in a courtroom or the boardroom, when you deliver the "Razzle Dazzle," you can capture attention and leave a lasting impression.

I also discuss Big Fish, a beautifully told story that highlights the incredible importance of storytelling. The main character’s wild and unbelievable tales resonate with me, as it encourages living a life full of diverse experiences, making the most out of every opportunity. I’ve always aspired to be a renaissance person, trying everything and leaving nothing on the table when my time comes. It’s about leaving behind stories so grand, people might not believe them, but they’re real—and that’s the legacy I aim for.

From Santa Claus to the Tooth Fairy, I reflect on the mythological figures we introduce to our children. Some offer valuable lessons, while others, like the terrifying Leprechaun and eerie Tooth Fairy, might make us rethink what we’re teaching. Through it all, we unpack lessons of connection, absurdity, and the importance of living authentically—just like the Grinch, who showed us that people can surprise you with their inherent goodness.

Welcome to The Spinoso Podcast hosted by CEO, doctor, comic book geek, and car guy, Alex Spinoso. I help people and companies grow - especially in the medical business. While my experience and expertise is in scaling all types of medical businesses to 7, 8, 9-figures or more, I can be a mentor to anyone who wants to take ownership of their lives, become a better leader at home and at work, and overcome any obstacle that stands in their way.
