I'm diving into one of the biggest questions I get asked all the time: How do you scale a medical practice or clinic? What's the best marketing strategy out there? Where should you be spending your money? Honestly, the best marketing is referrals—internal marketing. Nowadays, people prefer to buy from friends rather than brands. When they hear about a brand, they often ask their friends, "Hey, has anybody tried this? What are your thoughts? Should I buy it?"

If your brand doesn’t provide incredible customer service, people will think, "I could have gotten this cheaper somewhere else." They won't refer others to you. So, focus on every single patient that walks through your door. Number one: educate them. Teach them about the process, why they're taking the medication or treatment, how it will help them, and answer their "why." Ask them what they’re looking to accomplish and then listen. Every conversation should go back to answering their why.

Consistently educate your patients. Once you've closed the sale, provide outstanding customer service. Follow up: "How are you doing? How is the medication? Make sure to come in for your next treatment or follow-up." After you’ve established a relationship, ask for referrals. Many people shy away from this, but it’s key. Ask, "Is there anyone else who could benefit from this? Could you provide some names and numbers?"

Referrals are the best marketing strategy to scale your business. Create a loyal following, provide top-notch customer service, follow up diligently, and always ask for referrals. This approach will help you grow your practice to 20, 30, or 40 locations with minimal marketing spend.
